Who Benefits From Therapy?

Everyone! Therapy is not just for people with
"emotional problems." Many research studies
show that therapy can reduce future medical
expenses. In fact, when medical costs are
measured over a period of three to five years
after treatment, psychotherapy lowers
overall health care costs so much that it
would more than pay for the cost of the
therapy.

Therapy can also improve a person's
performance on the job. Executives and some
other people are now using a form of
psychotherapy called “coaching” to improve
their effectiveness and performance. Athletes
and artists also find that therapy can
enhance their overall performance and
achievement.

Problems with relationships and family
issues can be very stressful. There are
enormous costs (both financial and
emotional) that can result from divorce, child
adjustment problems, or other relationship
problems. Individual and family therapy can
go a long way in averting these costs. Many
people, for example, have found pre-marital
therapy to be an excellent way of learning to
resolve conflicts and improve
communication, thereby dramatically
increasing the likelihood for a long, healthy,
and successful marriage.
"There is no recipe for living that
suits all cases."

- Carl Jung
In providing a treatment approach that is engaging, directive, and dynamic,
Dr. Wetter has established a therapeutic method that is highly effective and
appropriately tailored to the unique needs of each client.

Appreciation of one's unique circumstances and developmental history makes
for a more meaningful therapy experience. While examining past family of
origin issues is helpful in understanding the dynamics of current
relationships, it is also important to focus on the "here and now", and the
reduction of current symptoms. Therefore, in addition to gaining valuable
insight about one's development and character, clients who work with Dr.
Wetter also learn skills which help prevent likely problems in the future.

By creating a safe environment to share feelings and express thoughts, clients
of Dr. Wetter can expect to receive constructive and helpful support on how to
make significant changes that will improve the quality of their life.
